Our ongoing series of tourists doing or wearing, shall we say…interesting things.  Some will make you keen in lamentation, some will cause you to blather in frustration, and others will make you see red.  This lady at Deir el Bahri is casually erasing ancient material by leaning against a decorated pillar as she takes in the site, not concerned that her sweaty forearm is draped across original red and yellow paint.  The Egyptians used mineral paints–the red and yellow are both relatively hardy colors based on hematite–but they really can’t handle this kind of persistent fondling.
